Modernizing Seven Automotive Production Lines Without Downtime

BMW modernized seven continuously operating production lines at its Munich plant to support the launch of a new vehicle model. Existing PLC programs and control systems were updated through phased implementation during defined operational windows, with controlled testing to reduce risks to ongoing production. The systems were aligned with current industry standards and BMW requirements for software architecture, safety, and documentation. The project was completed without interrupting production and included technical documentation and training for operators and technical personnel.
